Rules of the Arkansas State Soccer Association

These are the General Rules of the Arkansas State Soccer Association (ASSA) and its affiliated local soccer association membership. Where any issue pertinent to these rules is not wholly covered or requires clarification then such issue should be taken up with the chairperson of the Rules Committee or in the absence of that position with the committee chairperson having responsibility over the issue in question. Official-US-Youth-Soccer-Coaching-Manual

Each player with a ball. The players must toss their ball in the air and clap as many times as they can before catching the ball. The coach then asks each player how many claps they did before they caught the ball. (Players are to be congratulated whether they clapped twice or six times). They are then asked if they think they could beat their number with a second try. The answer hopefully will be, “I’ll try” Click here for more Info

Coaching Soccer 101

Soccer Coaching Information

The soccer field is the best place to learn about coaching soccer. The ideal situation is to get the coach on the field with their cleats or sneakers. Put them through drills and situations as if they were the kids. They experience how fun the game is. They also learn first hand what its like to be at the end of a line or to be sitting while the other kids are playing. Any person (a player, parent, spectator, guardian, coach, referee, board member, volunteer, or patron, hereinafter referred to as an “associated individual”) representing or acting on behalf of the Arkansas Soccer Association (ASA), the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYS) and/or the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) is expected to conduct themselves appropriately and abide by all policies of those governing bodies, as well as this Code of Conduct. How to Avoid Blowouts in Recreational Soccer

Blowouts (where a team wins over another by 5, 6, 7 or even more goals) are a no-win scenario for both teams. The players on the team that won were not challenged and learned essentially nothing. The players on the team that lost are disheartened and frustrated. The parents are angry and thinking about pulling their kid, and the coach is humiliated and looking for a place to complain.
